About this listen
Amazon Best-Seller! Reached number one in romantic comedy and top 100 in all books.
Synopsis: Sent to live with her cousin Elsie in the Yorkshire countryside, Rose has only one thing on her mind; joining her friends as a club rep in Mexico.
When she hears about a council incentive offering the promise of free flights to the person who clocks the most volunteering hours at the local care home, she’s got her plan set.
But she doesn’t plan on bonding with the old ladies, going after the village bad boy and trying to persuade Elsie not to become a Nun.
Soon, she’s questioning who her real friends are and whether her old life is one she wants to return to.
Can the village win her over and will she win the chance to leave it behind?
Will she even want to?

Raunchy and Laugh Out Loud Funny!
This was my first audiobook by Laura Barnard but it will not be my last. It was absolutely hysterical! Rose is your typical entitled city girl whose only priority is to party. So her parents, fed up of her behavior, ship her off to Yorkshire to live with her apprentice nun cousin, Elsie. Most of the book is a narrative of Rose's thoughts and experiences as she matures out of her childish behaviour and grows into her full potential. Oh! Did I mention that she is a snarky girl with a tendency to attract trouble? The characters in this book are fantastic! I absolutely could not press pause, even in those cringe worthy moments!
Deborah Balm did a tremendous job of narrating this book. She brought each character to life and added that unique Yorkshire flavour to the performance.

I loved this, it's so much better to listen to as you get the humour and a real feel for the characters. Especially when you get the right narrator.. I do love Laura Barnard's books they never fail to make me laugh but listening to them brings them to life. A definite one click!!!
