About this listen

International best-selling author Linda Fairstein returns with a breathless, explosive thriller exploring the dark side of New York City.

When the body of a woman is found in one of the most prestigious hotels in Manhattan, Assistant DA Alex Cooper and Detective Mike Chapman find themselves hunting for an elusive killer whose signature is carving a symbol, bearing a striking resemblance to train tracks, into his victims' bodies. Alex and Mike must contend with the city’s expansive underground tunnels to find a killer who is heading straight to the heart of the city.…

Captivating, keeps you wanting more.

What did you like most about Terminal City?

The interaction between the caractures was well presented. I loved the whole underground tunnel network and the idea of a whole city of people living in the disused tunnels. The story line kept me listening for hours at a time. I would offer to do a drive just to listen more of the book.

What other book might you compare Terminal City to, and why?

Slightly different take on Terminal City, but a book called, London Under London. It goes through the disused tunnels and underground rivers under central London, again, a city of people living just feet beneath the pavements of London.

Loved the book but...P

I really enjoyed this book, but the narrator sounded much to old for the character of Alex Cooper. Spoiled it

series gone on too long

Has Terminal City put you off other books in this genre?

Really this is just a travel and history guide with a few murders thrown in. The author has evidently run out of ideas which is a shame as I have generally enjoyed her books.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Narrator generally good but a lot of whining for particular characters. And the way she voices Mike is to make him sound an arrogant twerp, insulting rather than teasing.

Any additional comments?

its time to end this series. "Coop" and Mike the main characters are unlikeable and seem to have no redeeming features. There has been attraction between them in all the books but now - who cares just fed up with them both.

The murders are all samey and I really was not interested in whodunnit this time. As usual Coop is in mortal danger and all I could think is let's hope the murderer is successful this time. Shame but no more of these for me, should have stopped buying about 5 books ago.
