Not overly engaging

I loved a previous book by the same author so was really looking forward to this. The last parts were good but other than that it struggled to keep my attention.

Great

This was a very emotional read, more so than I expected. Written from several points of view, the reader gets a full insight into what each of the characters are thinking and feeling. I could feel the anguish and frustration of Justin mounting with every page, whilst Alicia's heartbreak and pain was palpable. This book definitely packed an emotional punch.

I listened to this on audio. The narration was very good and the character's easily identifiable.

Not the greatest listen!

Long winded. Copious use of word extensions - confusedly, bewilderedly.
The story and plot weren’t bad but read so slowly especially at the end if each chapter. So much so that I thought my phone’s battery had died several times.
Reader’s voice grated before halfway through book. :(

Brilliant

Loved it! Kept me interested all along so much do that I got next to no work done and lost sleep for 3 days! But the dog enjoyed his longer walks at least!
Love Tamsin Kennards narration as always.
I did guess the ending but it didn’t spoil the book. Just bought the babysitter to give a whirl.

Enticing thriller

A great book with loads of detail which keeps you well informed but also guessing. How much heart break can one family take. Who could cause them so much heartbreak? A great twist at the end with a concise conclusion.

Quite Good

Lots of tragedy and a catalogue of disasters leading to a bit of an improbable scenario but an enjoyable read nonetheless. Not sure the twist at the end was exactly a surprise but still justice got done. Not too sure about the narrators male voices but ignore that and it’s worth a listen.

a great listen

thoroughly enjoyed this book from the start, the concepts involved were great and flowed very well together. the characterisations were very good. it was a great tale of pointing out dangers involved within the different concepts and scenarios. The final chapters were thrilling and the twist.... well! It was well read.

Could have been completed in one chapter

This has to be one of the most boring books I have ever read/listened to!
The entire story could have been told in a couple of chapters. It was bulked out with absolute rubbish.
Basically, the woman involved in 'The Affair' really, really loved her husband - or so she kept saying. The narrator sounded as though she was running for a bus - over dramatised all the way through and just sounded out of breath. The teenage daughter 'Pumpkin' was a spoiled brat, The husband had no backbone where his wife was concerned, the .plot. jumped around all over the place - and the only reason I continued with it was because it had cost me a whole credit!! Don't waste yours
