Summary

The sea dragons are returning, and Joron Twiner's dreams of freedom lie shattered. His Shipwife is gone, and all he has left is revenge.

Leading the black fleet from the deck of Tide Child, Joron takes every opportunity to strike at his enemies, but he knows his time is limited. His fleet is shrinking, and the Keyshan's Rot is running through his body. He runs from a prophecy that says he and the avian sorcerer, the Windseer, will end the entire world.

But the sea dragons have begun to return, and if you can have one miracle, who is to say that there cannot be another?

Good story. Shocking performance.

Great story, writing is decent if not spectacular. But it's really really let down by the performance unfortunately. Such a shame. Worth a go with a free credit maybe.

the best story for a long time

Excellent story, completely absorbing and very well structured. polished off by the best reading of a novel I've heard since my father read the hobbit to me.

Speechless

It’s taken me 2 weeks to write this review. I couldn’t find the words to convey how DAMNED GOOD this book and by extension the series was.

I’m going to miss Jordon, Lucky Meas and the Gullaime. Some of the best characters written,

Beautifully narrated by Jude Owusa.

I’ve read some excellent books this year but this is head and shoulders above them all. Thank you RJ Barker. I cannot wait to see what you come up with next.

amazing pirate fantasy world

I cannot stress enough how happy I am that I didn't allow the low number of reviews for the first book deter me from purchasing it. I love this series!! I love the world and every single character. Each character has a purpose and they change/grow with each tragedy. While the first few hours of this book dragged as they were being pursued by the enemy the minute that ended it was all hands on deck. I could not put down this book. The last few hours really hindered the progress of my life lol that's how enthralled I was. I cried at the end. While I wished to have learned more about the legend of the caller and the seer, it was a great ending.

tickled me pirate bones

I was initially unsure about the series with such a grim world, but I enjoyed the pirate adventures and action. I also enjoyed the attention to scenery detail and the dialogue. I feel the narrator brought a lot to the story with his different accents. I was fully along for the ride up to and including the rather satisfying ending. it wasn't my usual fantasy fare, and I enjoyed it all the more for it.

Book Review

I enjoyed the last book of this series, a conclusion to a great story which was well-rounded, original and spoke of hope in dark times. I will be sure to re-listen and recommend to others.

Not Great

I had a really hard time finishing. the story became really drawn out and with a lot of tedious 'action' that didn't further the plot. the protagonist made lots of decisions/choices that were not appealing. hard to stick with a boring book when you don't like the main character. ending was anti-climatic

Amazing trilogy

The character arcs over the trilogy are phenomenal. The narration, superb. This series ran away with my imagination. I even had dreams about it.

This whole series is amazing, but I think this last book was my favorite. The ending was just perfect. The characters were Interesting as ever. Some great twists. Why isn’t this series more popular? I love it.

pretty alright conclusion

yea, I know the endings are the hardest to pull off, but I dunno... this one seemed like there coulda been a bit more. after all the build up of the last two books I was hoping for something that would blow my socks off. still work listening to if you've invested in the previous two
