About this listen

During an unprecedented heatwave, the body of a young girl is found in a submerged suitcase in Loch Acorrymore on Achill Island. DS Lucy Golden is tasked with identifying her and returning her to her family. With the help of her team, they discover that the girl was a runaway, who had spent some time in a homeless shelter. She has been murdered and an investigation is launched.

Despite some promising leads, Lucy's enquiries seem to be going nowhere until another the body with connections to the homeless shelter is discovered in what initially appears to be a suicide. Lucy knows that there is no such thing as coincidence, but the race is on to find the link between the two victims before the trail goes cold.

As Lucy is drawn deeper into the case, she realises that these murders may be a whole lot more sinister than first thought. Can Lucy keep a clear emotional head and get to the truth before more girls end up dead?

An interesting book

A good read. Slightly different from the “Night Caller”, bust still good.
Narration was also really good.

Very enjoyable read, great performance

Enjoyable read, reasonably average crime novel but nice little bits of humour and Aoife McMahon's performance lifts the whole thing and it was an enjoyable way to spend 9 hours. Will go back and read the first one as well so I definitely thought it was better than that last sentence makes it sound!

Another brilliant read

Really enjoyed the second book in this series. Gripping story, brilliant narration, and real mix between storyline of home/work life of the main character. Thoroughly recommend this book.

Excellent all round

After ditching a few books early on , which is unusual for me, I have at last found a great author , perfect narration & good story.
No need to say more really
I've read them both and can't wait for the next :)

Another triumph

This is the second book from this author and I can’t wait for the next one. The story, characters and setting are all superb … the story is fast paced with lots of twists. The depth of the characters is so well done and it gives excellent insight in to them and gives the opportunity to get to know them . I love the west of Ireland setting and the narrator really captures it . I couldn’t put it down .

Great characterisations

Great characterisations and we’ll paced plot. There were lots of people to keep track of however and it left me wanting something I can’t put my finger on.
