About this listen

Liz has found refuge in the small fishing village of Tremarnock with her young daughter, Rosie, after her relationship with Rosie's father came unstuck.

Now that she's happily married to village restaurant owner Robert Hart, all seems set for a quiet autumn and merry Christmas. But strangers have bought the local guesthouse and seem to have big plans. Why is he so charming and confident, but she's so frightened? And what are they really doing with the guesthouse?

Thoroughly good story!

I really enjoyed listening to this story and the development of both the characters and the storyline. It is well crafted and the characters are very believable, and the twists in the storyline from about halfway through are a real punch in the stomach, leaving the listener to wonder how things can possibly even start to resolve! Georgia Maguire does an excellent job of reading the story and the voices for the various characters. Altogether an excellent read which I really recommend.

interesting and varied storyline that keeps it above Average

modern issues were gently brought in well without being too jarring to what is a “cosy” series read

I liked the way the story has been built on from the first book with characters being developed
High calibre of narration too.

Wonderful

A fantastic story following the lives of the villagers in a Cornish village, book two. It was so good I couldn't stop listening, great narration, with so many characters in this story, she did well. Looking forward to book 3.

A lovely Cornish village story

I loved it and couldn't stop listening to it! Georgina Maguire is a brilliant narrator- so many different accents. So happy it all ended well . I hope that there will be yet another book about life in Tremarnock.

A pleasant book.

An easy listen, predictable but nice. Shame about the pronunciation of some of the Cornish place names - Trebah and Rough Tor in particular!
