Summary

The Messenger must prepare for war.

With the Archetype damaged, Dash and his crew will need more than a quick fix to prepare for what's coming.

A secret facility known only as the Forge lies in cold sleep, built by the Unseen for the greatest war in history. Dash has no idea what awaits him there, but he hopes to find some kind of advantage in the war that is to come.

Meanwhile, on a distant world, an ancient order of monks protects a long-buried secret. They have guarded it for centuries, all in the hope that someday the Messenger might come and relieve them of their task.

Dash has answered that call...and he will not be denied.

A great mecha novel

For manga fans except it’s a novel. This continued on from volume one. The narrator does a great job of making you hear the several characters involved and it has a good pace and exciting story. Best of all is the sarcastic tone of the main character and the developing sarcasm of his mech. A great book. Recommended

Why use one chapter when you can use a dozen?

A middling story made ridiculous by the use of multiple quests in order to 'power up' a high tec alien machine.
I think the author has been playing far too many adventure games.
Regardless of the daft and forced plot lines, the author just waffles on and on about the most mundane of stuff in order to pad out the book.
I swear, the whole book could quite easily be reduced to a few chapters and wouldn't lose anything in the telling.

I got the first two books for free, and I'm not sure that it was good value. I won't be bothering with any more in this sequence and will avoid the author from now on.

It's a bit plain

I don't know, it just doesn't do anything for me. Not engaging at all. The story is pretty ordinary, characters are also typical. Author's language is very plain, so the dialogues are not enjoyable on their own. After listening to a book by Neil Gaiman this is just.. meh.
