Summary
A heart-warming saga set against an ironworks in 1830s Shropshire by debut author Mollie Walton.

I loved listening to this saga
I visited iron bridge years ago & saw all 7 sites listening to this saga was very interesting & I can imagine the bosses in the big house looking down on the workers. The factory's that made the iron did indeed feel like hell on earth & this was only with the hammers thumping non stop, it's no wonder that the men who worked there didn't live to a ripe old age. Mollie certainly brought the whole saga to life & I look forward to listening to her second book. Lu Corfield has the perfect pitch as the narrator.

Great Book!
Loved this book great narration and the author has clearly done a lot of research on the history. Loved that there’s a recipe at the end of the book too

A cast iron five stars.
Two girls, one from a rich and predominately heartless family, one from a poor loving family, form a secret friendship. A steadfast friendship cast in iron, yet as brittle as glass. Mollie Walton’s delightfully enticing characters lure the reader into a world ruled by a blackened fire-belching behemoth of an iron foundry. The skilful writing breaths fresh air into a historical family saga, drawing back the drapes of time, to offer a prospect into lives, loves and losses of two socially polar families in 1830s Shropshire.

wonderful story!

Such a good read, struggled to put it away. The narrator is so good and the story full of emotion without the bad language so common in most modern literature.

Brilliant
This story had me gripped from the start and Lu is an amazing narrator, she brings the story alive, really looking forward to the next book I this brilliant saga.
