Summary
Penguin presents the audiobook edition of The Dead Tracks by Tim Weaver, read by Joe Coen and Hannah Arterton as well as Tim Weaver.
A serial killer more terrifying than you could ever imagine...
Seventeen-year-old Megan Carver was an unlikely runaway. A straight-A student from a happy home, she studied hard and rarely got into trouble. Six months on, she's never been found.
Missing persons investigator David Raker knows what it's like to grieve. He knows the shadowy world of the lost, too. So, when he's hired by Megan's parents to find out what happened, he recognises their pain - but knows that the darkest secrets can be buried deep. And Megan's secrets could cost him his life.
Because as Raker investigates her disappearance, he realises everything is a lie. People close to her are dead. Others are too terrified to talk. And soon the conspiracy of silence leads Raker towards a forest on the edge of the city. A place with a horrifying history - which was once the hunting ground for a brutal, twisted serial killer. A place known as the Dead Tracks...

Gruesome but gripping
Even better than the first book which is similarly gothic and unputdownable. The reading by the author is compelling too. Am sure I will enjoy the rest of the series. Excellent forking boring car journeys ...

Great case and a good piece of the Raker story arc
Enjoyed this case, quite gruesome, but intriguing. Enjoyed the Raker story arc too, he's what keeps me coming back to these novels really. There is one bit of the story I can't quite work out; doesn't seem to make sense to me; but it would be a spoiler to mention it!

I just can’t get on with this
It’s not the same as reading the book by Tim. Listening to Tim’s narrative, his soft voice does not do the book any favours. The storyline is fast and hard hitting but the narrative does the opposite. Sorry big fan but stick to writing please Tim, that’s where and what you do best.
