Summary

You never know who’s watching…

Corinne’s life might look perfect on the outside, but after three failed IVF attempts it’s her last chance to have a baby. And when she finds a tiny part of a doll house outside her flat, it feels as if it’s a sign.

But as more pieces begin to turn up, Corinne realises that they are far too familiar. Someone knows about the miniature rocking horse and the little doll with its red velvet dress. Someone has been inside her house…

How does the stranger know so much about her life? How long have they been watching? And what are they waiting for…?

A gripping debut psychological thriller with a twist you won’t see coming. Perfect for fans of I See You and The Widow.

Enjoyable but...

I bought this book as it was rated as a spine chilling thriller! It wasn’t!!
Without any spoilers it was obvious to me pretty quickly who the ‘mysterious ‘ 3rd person was but knowing that didn’t spoil it!
I didn’t find it at all creepy but a good story about family and anxiety and how it can take over everything!
However the very end was a massive disappointment to me and pretty much ruined the book! I do wonder whether the author has tried to set up a sequel? Not sure I’d be tempted into that!!

I saw it playing like a TV Drama in my head

I listened to this on Audible. I struggled a bit in the beginning to get into this story, but as it progressed I was hooked. I thought both sisters had their fair share of insecurities and that played out in the story. must admit, that got on my nerves a bit. I worked out, towards the end "whodunnit" - the baddies so to speak. Well, I got one of them at least, the other came as a total surprise and that pleased me, in that I didn't see that coming. Narration was good and all in all the story was good too. I saw it playing like a TV drama in my head.

It’s not bad!

Pheobe Morgan writes so well. Sadly, the story here is not nearly as good as is her second novel. The quality of writing and narration carried me through this. It is one that ‘passes the time’.

disappointed

I can't lie, I didn't enjoy this book one bit. I struggled to the end because I had wasted a credit on it and was determined to get my money's worth. The story was obvious and there were no twists and turns that had any real depth. All of the main characters were annoying, snivelling and almost pathetic. I couldn't have cared less about what happened to them. the story mostly comprised of people overreacting to situations that were not particularly scary or threatening. the only audible book I have ever given such a low review
