Story
The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right. He would try harder. With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick. Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway.

'It's been 11 months since I sat in my teenage bedroom and my mundane life was cast into madness. I suppose you could argue it was a lot longer if you include the 30-year trip back to 1986.' After his miraculous weekend in 1986, Craig Pelling returned to a future he could never have envisaged. Even by his own hapless standards, his plans have spectacularly backfired. Does he face a bleak, lonely future, or does he try to seek answers? Either way, an emotional roller coaster beckons.

As the fourth book in the series I didn’t think this would be better (I’ve loved all of them so far) but it was! If I could give more stars I would. Nathaniel is a wonderful character and the storyline was fabulous.

Great addition to Middle Falls saga
I have just spent 40 minutes writing a a carefully crafted review you of this audiobook which after one slip vanished from my Smartphone screen. The gist of my review you is that that while these are no Shakespearean prose this "pulp-fiction" sci-fi is is gripping and and imaginative in a way I'm sure Shakespeare would've wished he could've produced 😉.

Another great book in the series...
This was another good book in the series, although it was a little different to the first three books. I honestly preferred the first three books because they focused on the time travel aspect. But this was still a great book and worth reading as part of the series.

Spoiler Alert - Rehash of Heinlein
Ok, this is the first time I've left a review but I felt I had to. Also, spoiler alert here too. I really enjoyed the first 3 books in this series. All the narrators were good too, as was this one. But the story is just what my title says. It's a rehash of Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land. I could tell where it was headed very early in the book. I listened to it all only because I had paid for it and I kept hoping he would change course. I don't know where the rest of the series may be headed but if it's down this road I'll probably pass. If you've read Stranger in a Strange Land you can pass this by too. You already know how it ends.

Nice Twist to Middle Falls Series
I have listened to 4 of the available Middle Falls time Travel series and binged through all of them. Reaching the end is always sad because I really like the way Shawn Inmon writes these stories. I'm happy that more in the series are out there and can't wait for audible.com to make book 5 and 6 available.
The performance by the narrators have been some of the best on audible.com. Adam Verner - you rock!

Horrible
I enjoyed the first three books in this series. They were interesting and were narrated well. This book had an uninteresting and ridiculous storyline and a terrible sing song narrator. The narration was grating. I’m unsure if I should listen to anything else in this series.

The narrator was the hardest part.
I felt like I was "speed listening" through this, just to get it over with. But I didn't want to miss out on anything in the series so I muscled through it. The narration was painful. It literally made my skin crawl at times. His voice for Nathaniel was so "off" to me, nothing from the image on the cover of the book. The story was fine, but I prefer the "time travel" aspect that is in the rest of the series. To recap, I am truly enjoying the rest of the series...I tore through books 1-3....started 5 yesterday and grabbed me immediately!

Great story (different from first 3)/Awful narrator
I've enjoyed the Middle Falls stories so far, and this one didn't disappoint either. A little different than the first 3 but still worth it. I recommend just READING it as this narrator is god awfully annoying. He sounds like a gay christian camp counselor reading you the parables of Jesus. His tone completely ruins the story as it is just way off. Listen to a preview to see for yourself. It's distracting and annoying, and I actually think I would have liked the story more had it been narrated by someone other than a smug asshole that is satisfied by the sound of his own voice. (Example of a great narrator is the guy that does the 2nd book in this series! Loved him).

Narrator was TORTURE
This story would have been pretty good if there had been a different narrator. It was a cross between a story being read to a toddler and a dramatic newscaster. The “voice” used for the best friend sounded like a cartoon character. The question that went through my head the entire time I listened was “how on earth did the author approve this person to relay his story????”
