Summary
The Flame is a stunning collection of Leonard Cohen's last poems, selected and ordered by the author in the final months of his life. Featuring lyrics and prose pieces, the book also contains an extensive selection from Cohen's notebooks, which he kept in poetic form throughout his life, and offers an unprecedentedly intimate look inside the life and mind of a singular artist and thinker.
An enormously powerful final chapter in Cohen's storied literary career, The Flame showcases the full range of Leonard Cohen's lyricism, from the exquisitely transcendent to the darkly funny. By turns devastatingly sad and winningly strange, these are the works of a poet and lyricist who has plumbed the depths of our darkest questions and come up wanting, yearning for more.

Superb!
Cohen is present in this. Every admirer of him will find something special. Although we know his songs and poetry, listening activates our thoughts. Very special and a joy.

Narrators let down a good collection of Leonard’s poems
I found that most of the narrators did not do justice to the poems- I found it awkward listening to Cohen being read by females and men with cowboy- like accents

a well presented work...
suitable for mostly cohen devotees of whom there are many. all the orators treat their particular subject matter with flare and sympathy.
this poet; prose writer and prophet has graced us all with his genius for almost seventy years and I for one have "that empty feeling, like my father or my dog just died."
thank you Leonard, you have left us that remain far richer than this world was before you arrived.

The Readers
It's tough to listen to people reciting this who just can't deliver the text. It would have been better if it was all just read by Will Patton
