Arisen series simply a must for an wishlist.

This review counts for the 12 books in the Arisen series I've listened to so far, including 0.5 and 8.5. As shame on me I've not been reviewing every book individually.

Bought the first 3 book omnibus back in March 15/2018 witch is recommended as they are the 3 shortest. But series still going strong, well written and narrated.

0.5 can be listened any time but strongly recommended you get to it along with 8.5 before book 10 The Flood.

Goes from strength to strength

Just full of action, as with all the other books.

You really feel for the characters in these books. Really well written, with second to none narration by RC Bray

ok it is a little drawn out but it is still enough to keep you drawn in waiting for the next corner although you know there. is bound to be another story before the eventual end or is there

Better than book9

Well read, progression has improved from book 9.

It is taking so long to reach the end I am losing interest so it's possible the book is losing status with because of this.

A Deluge of Action

I wonder if this series is now settling into a pattern; one medium action scene setter followed by an absolute fire cracker of a follow-up to deliver on the promises made. This one is most definitely of the fire cracker variety and the action is unrelenting delivering in the Arisen style that we’ve come to love. Hopeless situations rescued either by extreme badassery or incredible adventure – in fact I think it’s worth warning people that this one possibly pushes the envelope even further. Fair enough, if you want just gritty realism zombie books probably aren’t your thing, just be prepared to dial down your logic chips at times in this one.

The narration? It’s the grand master Bray on his home turf and he owns that turf. You know what you’re going to get from him, he delivers every time in this series and this is no exception. The story focuses on the action in the away teams primarily and doesn’t have the rather choppy feel of the previous book which seemed to be pulling a few too many strings together at once.

So, my love affair with rotting corpses and the heroes that are defending the last vestiges of humanity from them continues and I’ll wait impatiently for the next one. You feel the series probably has to end some time but while Fuchs can deliver such compelling action and a little humour here and there including aping Jurrasic Park slightly I have to say I’m in no hurry for it to finish.
