Have enjoyed this audiobook very much.

Apparently the speed of the narration can be speeded up which would improve it. I don’t know how to do this however but will try to find out before listening again. Very enjoyable though and well worth listening to.

Wonderful story full of twists and turns

First of all, I need to address the narrator performance, like all the reviews say. Very slow reading that was remedied by playing the audiobook at 1.2x speed.
Once that was accomplished I found the story so compelling and enjoyable. It was non stop action paced and full of twists and turns. You cannot but help root for the hero as he navigates his world and becomes a man. Special mention also to the cousin Gideon who is a fantastic supporting character. Wonderful story and I would love to listen to it again.

This story is a well loved favourite of mine, enhanced now by fantastic narration. The characters came alive in my head - much recommended

Awful narration

An exercise in pronunciation, with little feeling for the spirit of the great story

Speed it up for an excellent listen

Great story, great narration, great escapism. Witty, well-paced and full of interesting characters and absurd situations.
Highly recommended.

Excellent story and narration

This is such a great novel. The love story is less significant than many of Heyer novels but the plot is much better. So many twists and turns. Lots of characters (many recognisable from other Heyer novels - Gideon is Hugh Darracott, Gaywood is Pelham amongst others) all well drawn and the narration (once speeded up) is excellent. Highly recommended.

Well read Georgette Heyer novel

I am a great fan of Georgette Heyer, although this is not among my favourites. However, all of her novels are head and shoulders above most Regency romances. Peter Noble does a good job with most of the characters.
