Captivating story, really well told.
Emotional, distressing at times, with very believable characters and storyline. A thoroughly enthralling book, really well told by the narrator.

This is without doubt one of Karin Slaughter’s best books. I could not stop listening to it. An intriguing storyline from beginning to end. The narrator was excellent. One of the few books I’d listen to again!

Not a comfortable read
Rarely have I come across characters that I have cared about so much. Some of the events were brutal, but the words were never gratuitous. The emotions were raw. There was guilt, self justification, self doubt and self discovery and an understanding of human imperfections. The truth came out in the end.
The reader had a lightness of touch which made the darkest parts seem believable, avoiding over dramatisation.
