Brilliantly done
I was a little hesitant about this book because it had very mixed reviews, but I really really loved it
It’s a slightly dark thriller set in the Isle of Mull .
I thought the narrator Jaimi Barbakoff was perfect for the character Sadie. She totally brought out all the emotions of this book.
I also liked that they used to Robin Laing for the island’s narration (might sound strange , but it does make sense)

wonderful
Wonderful slow paced thriller that ramped up towards the end and by the way an ending I didn't see coming . Characters so well developed and language so descriptive I felt the chill of the North Atlantic. HIghly recommended .

Giving the island a voice is great
The plot is very good, the characters divers and interesting (but a lot more serious than any Scottish people I have ever met in my life).
My stumbling block was the narrator, an oddly prissy, slightly smug, slightly bland character that seemed somehow incomplete.

Loved it!
Captured from start to end! A very human and likeable detective. Beautiful description of the Isle of Mull, its history, and its people. The ending both the worst and the best I’ve ever read - certainly a twist I hadn’t seen coming.

The Narration!
Firstly I’m a big fan of Helen Fields and narrator Robin Laing but whoever decided to bring Jaimi Barbakoff in as a third narrator….. well to say the very least is totally beyond me. I could not listen to it. Her voice just grated on my ears. Absolutely dreadful. It does seem unfair of me to leave a review as I only managed a few chapters but just couldn’t go on. My recommendation is listen to a sample first, I didn’t.

Full of intrigue
Love this book, very different from her other books didn’t expect the ending, and I won’t. I won’t elaborate as you need to hear the book.

Arghhhh
Just into chapter 3, absolutely love Helen Fields but this narrator is doing my head in and I cannot take this book seriously, I am gutted !!
