About this listen

The Invasion of the Highborn.

The mysterious enemy has come, and Tyler Barron and his allies prepare for the final battle, the desperate struggle to save the Rim. Barron’s spacers are ready to fight, as always, but this time they know little of the enemy, and they face technology far beyond their own.

They will fight to the end if necessary, battle with their final breaths to hold back the deadly enemy. They will stand alongside their old enemies, the Hegemony, united for one massive battle, one all out effort to stop the Highborn.

But, even as they prepare to make a stand, they will learn exactly what they are facing, who the Highborn truly are and where they came from…and they will discover that nothing is truly as they’d believed. From the legends of the old empire to the desperate struggle for the future, everything is about to change.

The Last Stand is book 14 of the Blood on the Stars series. Blood on the Stars will continue with book 15, Empire's Ashes.

All or Nothing

The final conflict (doubtful), and its going to be messy.

I had a feeling all would not be as it seemed at the end; after all, why get rid of one character that brings so much to the table. However, I do not think I will like the way this is going if it strings out too much.

My one gripe is the repetitiveness throughout, which I tended to fast forward. Without this, you could probably cut the book by a third.

Disappointing!! (Spoilers)

Literally can’t put it any other way. After a long wait, I expected something new and I was given the same story I’ve listened to over and over again. I found the whole story to jumbled, to actually visualise what was going on. My main complaints are

• Randomly finding information out of knowhere “Some old Locker” on the “New” Adversary.

• I found out that there’s a tie in to another series which I can’t read now because I know the ending to it which has infuriated me to no end.

• Characters from the past books seem to just have been forgotten which I find disgusting considering the roles they play.

• The same outcome that has happened time and time again. No matter what the main characters do which make you wonder why you listened to it in the first place.

• Part of the details of the story where mentioned and then forgot such as Mine fields/orbital defences which where mention and that was that.

• I find it ridiculous the a paper version of the books are realised months a had of the audiobook version. I understand that they have to be narrated but at the same time why can’t their releases be joined.

I honestly love Blood on the Stars and I can’t expr my disappointment enough.

this story is got so repetitive it's the same as the last few bigger enemies fighting something else worse how long till there all teaming up on the new unnamed enemy.
