Summary
‘Another perfect page-turner’ The Times‘A triumph from the master thriller writer’ The Sun
In this twisty thriller from the Sunday Times bestselling author, a man desperately tries to track down his father in witness protection before his enemies can get to him.
Your dad’s not a good person. Your dad killed people, son.
These are some of the last words Jack Givins’s father spoke to him before he was whisked away by witness protection, leaving Jack and his mother to pick up the shattered pieces of their lives.
Years later, Jack is a struggling author, recruited by the U.S. Marshals to create false histories for people in witness protection. Jack realises this may be a chance to find his dad – but then he discovers he’s gone missing, and he could be in serious danger.
Jack knows he has to track him down. But how will he find a man he’s never truly known? And how will he evade his father’s deadly enemies – enemies who wouldn’t think twice about using his own son against him?

Enjoyable Story
A great fan of Linwood Barclay so always look out for his new books. Not as good as some of his previous books but an enjoyable read with the usual twists & turns.

Excellent story and narration
Another great book from Linwood Barclay. I listened to this over 3 days gripped by the unfolding story. All the characters were likeable even the murderer of several people.
Narration was also excellent and gave a real sense of what was going on from various perspectives.
A great listen wether you are familiar with this author already or as a stand alone novel.

Solid story. Couple of twists, easy to listen to. Moving in parts.
The story was good. A nice twist on a tested formula. Nothing ever gets too big or too bold, so it was easy to listen to. Some of the commentary is like listening to a news reel though, which I found distracting at times, but mostly delivered well I thought.
