Summary

The blossom is out in the little Cornish harbour town of St Felix.

But Poppy Carmichael's spirits aren't lifted by the pretty West Country spring. Inheriting her grandmother's flower shop has forced her to return to Cornwall, a place that holds too many memories.

Poppy is determined to do her best for the sake of her adored grandmother, but she struggles with the responsibility of the more-shabby-than-chic shop. And with the added complication of Jake, the gruff but gorgeous local flower grower, Poppy is very tempted to run away....

The pretty little town has a few surprises in store for Poppy. With new friends to help her and romance blooming, it's time for Poppy to open her heart to St Felix and to the special magic of a little flower shop by the sea!

Good listen

Would you consider the audio edition of The Little Flower Shop by the Sea to be better than the print version?

only had the audio version

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Little Flower Shop by the Sea?

Just overall a good listen

What aspect of Emma Powell’s performance might you have changed?

I think it was a shame that she got the main male characters name wrong several times and by the end of the book it started to irritate me. Jack and Jake are quite different!

Nice easy listen.

It was a lovely book to listen to before bed. I did find the narrator did slip into same impressions for Amber and Bronte at times and called Jake, Jack but it was an easy follow and was able to get into the story well enough to enjoy. Can imagine the setting and what the characters looked like. Described well. Would recommend for someone (like me) who isn't a regular reader and likes to pick up an easy quick book every once in a while when one.

Great holiday read

This is a great story, with characters you can relate to. Plays with the emotions so keep the tissues handy! Narration enhances the book rather than getting in the way of it.

Great absorbing read

Loved this charming story set in a coastal seaside town. Enjoyed seeing Poppy soften and gradually deal with secrets from her past in a gentle way encouraged by the power of flowers and strong friendships as well as romance. Absorbing book and could listen to the narrator all day. Recommended.

Nice bit of soppy romance and escapism!

was your typical romance novel and had a happy ending if not slightly predictable but who cares really! had relatable characters which you rooted for to do well and narrated well.
