About this listen
What's the next thing you want to buy?
We all have heard of the phrase "money can't buy happiness", but what we don't realize is a lot of us are under the control of the media and advertising industry, and have been fed the idea that having more materialistic possessions can help you experience a much happier and more fulfilling life. This obsession with having fancy clothes, nice cars, or bigger houses has distracted many people from being kind, friendly, and respectful to each other. The materialistic mindset has also caused a large number of people to get into serious debt, which leads to financial stress that jeopardizes a person's health and well-being.
In this book, Grace Scott will introduces us to the consequences of materialism, and how materialism can have a terrifying impact on us. She will also show us exact steps we need to take in order to be free from this materialistic society.
Here is what I'll be sharing with you:
- The materialistic mentality
- Material possessions vs. happiness
- Fun and non-material forms of entertainment
- The remedy of materialism

An engrossing read.
The book talks about regular mindful meditation that can help you become more mindful of the world around you. Materialism all stems from having poor intent!

thinking wisely
People start thinking more about buying the nice things instead of being appreciative of the beauty in their world, or having dinner on the table and family and friends that love them. What an unbalanced life this could become!

It didn't missed anything.
A full-time mom here. That staggering inclination when the dishes are heaping up, you don't wanna know. This sound recording appealed to me the most because of its ton of significant worth that other moderation books missed.

I am re-listening to it from time to time.
It’s nice to see that other readers have positive view of this audio book. I am in favor of this. It’s short and I finished it in one sitting, but I always find myself re-listening to it until I master the art.

I don't quite like the narrator's voice.
The book is practical and realistic in its development of the topic, without bias and challenging for us to take heed of being materialistic!

Cheers to a less materialistic life.
There are anything but difficult to-utilize and executed every day techniques I could begin today to eradicate the confusion, hurl out the physical and mental mess stalling you, and clicking that "ON" catch to a superior, less materialistic life.

I can now make room for more important things.
Grace Scott cuts right through the matter. I now know how fantastic it is to be a minimalist. What I need is a book to help me figure out how to get there and keep me motivated after I start and this is it.
