About this listen

Sometimes vengeance isn’t just taken - it’s stolen.

Axel Archer was a retired soldier, family man, patriot...and the king of thieves. He used his training and expertise to pull off heists throughout New York City. At first, it was out of necessity to support his family - but then, because no other thrill could hope to rival it.

That was, until the day a single gunshot rang out. What was supposed to be a routine bank job spiraled into disaster. His four daughters - Cassidy, Delilah, Bethany, and Angie - were forced to scatter and assume new identities, trying their best to live new lives and forget about the past.

Five years later, tragedy causes the Archer sisters to return to New York to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives, reunite in a quest for vengeance, and uncover a conspiracy which has cost them dear.

They will take their father’s training and their own skills and qualities - from infiltration, to marksmanship, to getaway driving, to hacking - and adopt their own style. They will show New York that the heirs to the king of thieves are back in town, and the queens of the steal are just as worthy of the throne....

Queens of the Steal Volume One is an eight-part series of action-thriller adventures, ideal for fans of the crime and heist genres who enjoy quick and entertaining stories.

A nice intro to hopefully a good series!

A nice bit of escapism during a long drive. A thoughtful plot with and interesting array of characters; this book sets up the series well. Hoping for many plot twists to come in the next book!

Excellent, short, crime thriller.

Great short story from Benneyworth, with a nice cliffhanger. Original plot and excited for part 2.

A clever, twisting must-listen-to story!

A recommended author, now in audible format, had me remaining in my car just to listen to the story. I loved the characters and willed them to be ok as the plot twists and charges deeply into their bi-polar existence. Cleverly weaving multiple plots together, the narrator brings the lives of these hurt, driven women alive by some excellent story telling. I loved the descriptions of their lives- how impossible to live with such secrets. I could just feel the relief when their true selves pop out of their suppressed alter egos. My only negative, having to wait until the next one comes out. Don't leave me suspended too long! I need to know what happens next.

Great story for a dull drive

Very much enjoyed this novella. Well performed with a captivating story, which left me poised for the next release. The perfect length for a car journey, I listened to the entire thing in one during a drab drive. I found myself at my destination, not wanting to get out of the car until the end.

A well crafted and well read delight.

I was given a free download of this story in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first experience of this author’s work but after listening to this audio adaptation, it certainly won’t be the last. The story is superbly well crafted - complex without being convoluted, and offering up intriguing characters in whom the listener quickly invests. It is a strongly produced audio, too, expressively read in a style which genuinely compliments the narrative. This was a delight to listen to.

The best audio book I’ve listened to in some time

Well written and intriguing (and crucially performed too - I always find an annoying voice a killer for audio books), I listened to it in one sitting. I will be sure to keep an eye out for the rest of the series and the writer’s other material.

Great book. Need more!

This isn’t the genre I normally listen to but it drew me in and left me wanting more. It has a long prologue compared to the length of the whole book but this served well to set the scene and explain the background to the characters.

Well narrated and just the right speed - I find some narrators too fast which grates a bit.

Looking forward to the next one - recommended.
