Very helpful
Both my mother and my mother-in-law have been diagnosed with dementia. Needless to say, it's been extremely stressful for me and my husband. At first, we were in denial and used unhealthy coping mechanisms. But very soon we came to a realization that dementia is here to stay in our family and we need to get more prepared at the same time as we take care of our loved ones. This audiobook was just what we needed. I can't believe how comprehensive it is and how much it is to learn! But that's what we did. The book goes far beyond just the basics, offering actionable steps to manage daily challenges. I especially appreciated the section on legal and financial planning—it's something we hadn't fully thought of before. Overall, this is a solid book and I recommend it to any caregiver, and the sooner you get it, the better!

Comprehensive and Helpful
I am facing the daunting task of taking over much of the caregiving for a relative with dementia. Listening to this audiobook was incredibly helpful, and I now have a plan and feel better educated on what to expect and how best to handle specific situations. I particularly liked the parts of the audiobook that explain the things I can do for myself to avoid burning out and be there for my relative; it was very helpful.

Very important read ♥
I've had experience caring for our son who was in the NICU 4 months, and know how taxing that can be ... how important it is to know how to care for yourself along the way, so you can be there for those you love. I also definitely have experienced the meaning of the opening quote ... "Caregiving often calls us to lean into love we didn't know possible."
There's more inside you than you know. The key is learning to steward it well.
I watched my father care for his father later in life through some very hard mental/emotional passageways. I am so thankful for this book and its lessons. It gives a good overview of the important points, and I would recommend it to any caregiver.
