Enjoyable WW2 fiction
An array of characters kept pace with an interesting story which held my interest Narration was really good the male narrator was a bit stilted but others where fine

Stick to one narrator
Loved the story but the overall experience was let down by the use of multiple narrators one of whom almost had me giving up on this listen. Worth persevering if you don’t have time to read the book.

Stilted emotionless narration. Excruciating!
Overall story was mildly interesting but I really cannot recommend this book. Having more than 2 main characters meant that none of them were fully developed. In fact the entire book felt undeveloped. For a novel set in Paris, there were very few references or descriptions of the city. This would be a great Mills & Boon type book. It has that superficial, stereotypical shallow feel to it ~ the women are all stunningly beautiful and the men are all over-the-top handsome. Additionally, there are too many unrealistic scenarios that simply would never have happened. The female narration was dreadful. The performance was totally lacking in emotion, with each word being stiff, overblown and pompous ~ great if that's what's required for the book, but it was not. The female narration was like a visit to a speech therapist or a teacher speaking to a class of five year olds. Male narrator was great, but ultimately not enough to save the book. Waste of money. This is definitely a ZERO star review.
