Summary

This beautiful, moving novel of mothers and daughters and the secrets they share will fill hearts with love and light this Mother's Day....

Happy birthday, darling girl....

Ever since she can remember, Roisin has received a birthday card from her mother - the mother she has never met. Brought up by her adoptive parents, Keeley and Doug, Roisin has wanted for nothing. But on her 13th birthday a letter comes that shakes her world.

For Keeley, who's raised Roisin as her own, the letter reminds her of a guilty secret she's been hiding for 30 years. And for Nell, keeping watch in the lighthouse, the past is a place she dares not go. Until a young runaway arrives seeking shelter and unwraps the gift of hope for them all....

Beautifully written and beautifully read

Enjoyed every character and loved all the voices that were created by the reader, especially the charcter Mouse and her honest relationship with Nell. Not a dull moment in the book from start to finish.

Good enough

Did Emma Lowe do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?

The voices were good, and the narrator did justice to the story.

Was The Perfect Gift worth the listening time?

The story is good, but not gripping. No fault of the author, but a story is more than characters and I miss the descriptive turn of phrase which Irish stories normally have.
