Summary

'PS: thanks for the murders.'

The death of a 90-year-old woman with a heart condition should absolutely not be suspicious. DS Harbinder Kaur certainly sees nothing to concern her in carer Natalka's account of Peggy Smith's death.

But when Natalka reveals that Peggy lied about her heart condition and that she had been sure someone was following her...and that Peggy Smith had been a 'murder consultant' who plotted deaths for authors and knew more about murder than anyone has any right to...and when clearing out Peggy's flat ends in Natalka being held at gunpoint by a masked figure...well then DS Harbinder Kaur thinks that maybe there is no such thing as an unsuspicious death after all.

From the sleepy seaside town of Shoreham, to the granite streets of Edinburgh and the shores of Lake Baikal, The Postscript Murders is a literary mystery for fans of Antony Horowitz, Agatha Christie and anyone who's ever wondered just how authors think up such realistic crimes....

PS: trust no one.

Brilliantly read crime novel about crime novelists

I absolutely loved Nina Wadia's narration - accents brilliant, character really well conveyed through voice, and story very easy to follow. This is a well -written murder mystery of the unscary sort, with warmly depicted and rounded characters. Some gentle fun is poked at crime writing, publishing and crime festivals too.

Rambled on a bit and became implausible

Not quite sure what this is meant to be. It’s a cosy murder mystery with a bit of police procedural, but for me, the story became increasingly implausible as with little reality in terms of the police actions.

I was disappointed overall and became bored about half way through although I did finish it.

Stuck with it, but wouldn't recommend

The narrator was good but the story not believable. Stuck with it but will avoid this author in the future.

Divine mystery with twists all the way through

Loved this.
Diverse, quirky and eccentric characters plus a few stereotypical ones along the way. Masterfully put together and sequenced at a pace to allow breathing before the next race. Very enjoyable and I look forward to reading more from Elly. Nina’s voices and delivery were good too and made the listening, a pleasant experience. Thank you

Loved all the characters - Elly Griffiths at her best.

The narrator is excellent. If possible, I would give Nina Wadia 10 stars!

Reasonable story well narrated

Worth a listen. I felt the story got a bit convoluted, but it eventually unravelled.

Great plot with a few loose ends.

I loved the characterisation and the flaws that were so generously human.
The reader was fantastic because there were tricky dialogues to get your voice round.
Looking for the next book now….

Not her best work but still good.

An enjoyable listen even though it’s not up to the standards of the author’s other books (Ruth Galloway etc). Lovely descriptions and a story that flows, if a little predictable at times - I found myself guessing various clues early on & spent much of the book waiting for the characters to catch up.
Extremely well narrated, well, apart from the cringe-worthy Scottish accents that had my toes curling.
Keeping my fingers crossed there’ll be another book featuring Harbinder Kaur, hopefully she’ll have made DI by then.
