Very boring and dull
Just finished it and can say even with the "big" battle at the end it's just boring and dull. The book is 40% meetings and secret meetings with characters that are easily forgettable and just easily killed off. I didn't enjoy the narration either as most of the voices sounded the same and some of the tough guy voices were almost comical.

dare I say that this prequel although obviously produced along the same lines as the film would have made a much better film awesome listen.

Predator
I despair at the state of the Predator and Alien franchises at this moment in time. However I will say for the most part I enjoyed this story. it should've been the movie though.

This stuff will make you a god damned sexual tyrannosaurus, just like me.
Everything a Predator novel should be and more. Full of action and you really get involved with the Reaper team. Very well narrated also.
I mirror what others say - this is the movie we all deserved.

Great Story
Far better story than Shane Blacks movie. The narrator does a good job and the pacing was just right.

Great potential…
Decent enough narration. Story with potential that failed to deliver. Let down by some truly terrible lazy writing. The number of times the author chose to use “the damned thing” in each chapter was borderline hilarious and intensely annoying by the end. Advise you avoid wasting time and money on this regardless of how much you love the Predator mythos.

Delivers what you would expect
This was good predator knockabout stuff.
I did like the Reaper Team and many of the scenes depicted in the book were easy to visualise and would likely lend themselves more to a big budget film production. It is as though this is written with that in mind possibly?
There are some criticisms. The characters seem to self-reflect too easily without having built depth, and the action sequences that often felt underwhelming, might have been longer and more intense without the soul-searching. Also, some of the action does feel borrowed from other film franchises, though not too explicitly, And finally, the mystery and scariness of the predator tends to get a bit lost in these novels and whilst this might work for some, it grates on me and feels like easy fan service more than story development.
But it is what it is, and the text never leads me to think too deeply, it serves up what you would want in a Predator novel, and it is an enjoyable listen.

Drink every time you hear “damned”
While some of the fight sequences could be engaging at times, the word damned has been totally ruined for me. I had no idea it could be used in so many ways. Whatever the story had to offer was substantially brought down by this, the reading however was brilliant, and suited the theme of the story. I wouldn’t recommend the writer, but enjoyed the narration.

Good listen. Looking forward to the series
Good narrative and story that keeps you engaged. Some graphic descriptions of the deaths.
Maybe a little confusing when the narrator switches from the humans narrative to the predator narrative, although you get used to it after a while.
