Summary

Join scholar and spell-caster Everson Croft in this five-book urban fantasy set, from the discovery of his magic in the prequel novella, Book of Souls, to his battle against a mind-warping evil in the shocking finale, Death Mage.

Who is Professor Croft?

If he sat beside you on the subway, you might notice his disheveled coat and burnt satchel, but you’d have no idea he was New York’s hardest-working mage (or that his cat talked). Never properly trained, he's been learning on the job. Outwitting vampires, wrestling werewolves, banishing powerful demons - all while holding down a teaching gig. But wizarding is in his blood, and he’ll do whatever it takes to protect his dysfunctional city, even if he mashes a few toes along the way. Watch your feet.

This value set features the first four novels and the prequel novella in the spell-crackling Prof Croft series: Book of Souls, Demon Moon, Blood Deal, Purge City, and Death Mage. Your ticket to magic and mayhem awaits!

Light weight 'Harry Dersden'

Magnarella obviously admires Jim Butcher so much he has stolen all his characters and the main scenario lock, stock and smoking hot staff. Not a bad listen and the reader is excellent. The main character, though is unlikable, arrogant and frequently incompetent in a not-very-engaging way. He is so addicted to lying that he constantly leaves supposed friends and alies ignorant and in danger because only Prof Croft know best. Five ok stories at this price is a bargain, and the stories are by no means terrible. If you like these, you will LOVE the Dresden files.

Prof Croft is Magic!!!

Being a huge Dresden Files fan I was a little hesitant to try this series as I felt it was a bit of a carbon copy. Not a bit of it, as the books unfolded I was more and more impressed with both Brad’s writing and the excellent delivery by James. I would definitely recommend this series and am about to grab the next book.

Can wait to delve deeper into the Croftverse!

Having already read the books 1&2 in this series I was already a fan, each book gets better (the death mage been the best) but James Patrick Cronin’s voice work brings the story and characters to life. Any fans of Harry Potter should check out this series!

Amazing Value

This is a perfect amalgamation of the first 5 books and I’m really impressed that it was just one credit.

Great read

Loved these books from the start to finish, I'm hoping they will continue to find out more about his relationship with vagas

New favourite

I really enjoyed these titles, quite dresden but different enough for it to be a fresh take on wizardry

a Dresden copy but still enjoyable

First, I need to say that I thoroughly enjoyed these books. However, the basis is a definite Dresden copy, he has a cat, he's got a close relationship with a female detective, his parents were magical and where killed... the list goes on; still the stories are enjoyable and are definitely made so by the narrator, who, yet again, adopts the deadpan style of Harry Dresden.
Well worth a listen especially if you're not familiar with The Dresden Files, and if you're not, go check them out!
