Summary

Lara's life looks perfect on the surface. Gorgeous doting husband Massimo, sweet little son Sandro and the perfect home. Lara knows something about Massimo. Something she can't tell anyone else or everything Massimo has worked so hard for will be destroyed: his job, their reputation, their son. This secret is keeping Lara a prisoner in her marriage.

Maggie is married to Massimo's brother Nico. She knows all of Nico's darkest secrets - or so she thinks. The one day she discovers a letter in the attic which reveals a shocking secret about Nico's first wife Caitlin. Will Maggie set the record straight or keep a lie to protect those she loves?

For a family held together by lies, the truth will come at a devastating price.

Two women- one family.

Bought this audio for a long car journey and ended up making excuses to listen to it- gardening, walking dogs, bed time......
Not a thriller, or weird or any of that kind of thing. Just a good read (listen to).
The chapters alternate between two characters whose lives seem perfect to eachother but who both have their own issues.

A new favourite

I loved this one by Kerry. From start to finish I was bothered about the main characters which meant the ending brought a tear to my eye because I was emotionally invested. I also love Emma Spurgen Hussey as a narrator now and I didn’t at the beginning of the first book I heard from her.
A must read (or listen!) I think

excellent

enjoyed the way the chapters alternated views of the 2 main characters. narration was excellent, nothing over the top. emma also managed to brilliantly differentiate between Maggie & Lara with such subtlety it was obvious who the chapter was about without a significant distracting altering of the tone.

Enjoyed every moment

Loved it. Very gripping. Couldn't stop listening.

The belief of all characters is testiment to the authors skillful depiction of humanity through all our flaws and glory. I listened in a couple of days despite working full time as I needed to hear what happened next. The ending truly is satisfying.
