About this listen

Young Maisie Gibbs is a conscientious young woman, though life is harder since both her parents passed away. She is relieved when she finds a position as a housemaid in Kensington, under the watchful eyes of the formidable housekeeper, Mrs Carpenter, and she quickly settles in.

When she meets a handsome young soldier, she is tempted to give him his marching orders. But gradually Corporal Daniel Adams starts to win her over.

When tragedy strikes the Fairfax household, Maisie is lucky she has Daniel to rely on - a good sign of things to come?

A delight for fans of the Adams family - the heart-warming story of Daniel and Chinese Lady.

End of a 29 book series!. NO!

All good things come to an end, but I feel I knew the characters. I feel this last book was just the icing on the cake. The whole series was so beautifully written. Also expertly read. I wish I had know what happened to football loving Dumpling, she was hilarious. It really made me think of my own Ancestors & what they went through. Even as I child we lived with Grandparents & had a tin bath & loo in the garden. The history in these books were just superb. Thank you so much for sharing them.

The Adams Family saga…

After 29 books, everyone a sheer joy to listen to, I’m absolutely gutted to have come to the end of a truly wonderful series of books. I feel I now know all of these family members just as I know my own. Beautifully written and ALL 29 books left me wanting to read another. From their school years to their old age I have thoroughly enjoyed every character, every event in their lives and every word of these wonderful stories. Just a pleasure to read.
I may now have to start the series again because there can’t not be an Adams book in my library ready to start.
Thankyou for the best books I have ever read.

I didn't want this book to end

I loved all of the other books in the series and this was a fitting end, so sad that it's come ro end. I may just have to start all over again.

Addictive story

What a wonderful story about the Adams family, I enjoyed listening to every book in this series it has kept me entertained for weeks, I’m quite sad that it has come to an end. The narrator Annie Aldington was a pleasure to listen to and her voice changes of the different characters was perfect. I’m really going to miss this family it was a pleasure listening to it.
