Summary

An eighty-year-old man is found murdered in his home. His age and standing in the community makes finding his killer difficult–why would anyone harm an elderly man? What threat could he possibly be to anyone?

With no apparent motive, DS George Cross canvases the community for potential suspects but the man was known as generous, charitable, community-minded. Each interview about who the man is muddies the picture further. So Cross decides to look for who he was–revealing a past that is far less honourable than his present . . .

Perfect for fans of MW Craven, Peter James and Joy Ellis, The Teacher is part of the DS George Cross thriller series, which can be listened to in any order.

'I am insanely in love with George Cross, a perfect detective for our time and for all time.' STEPHEN FRY

Twists and turns

As with all of the DS Cross series, this had me guessing until the end. The characters are so well written and the narration of the books is excellent. Looking forward to the end instalment!

Quite superb

I love all the DS Cross books and this is the best yet. A superb story, so clever and absorbing. The characters are so well drawn and the tensions caused by George Cross's 'quirks' are really well described, There's a lot of humour there as well. My only minor reservation relates to the description of the trial in the Crown Court when many of the procedures and words are American and have no place in English trial proceedings. It's a common error but disappointing none the less. This won't worry most people, though, and it's still a brilliant read!

Incredibly Story Line

Nothing to dislike about this great book except of course it’s disappointingly the last in the series. Loved all six books. Don’t miss them

DS Cross

Once again Tim Sullivan written a brilliant DS Cross story. The only downside to the story is that it ended. I am looking forward to the next mystery that George and Oti solve. Great narration that was easy to listen to.

Great writing

This was the last book in the series and I was spellbound again! Intriguing and entertaining. I loved the insight into George's mindset, which is uncomfortably like my own in some respects and also the insight into the discomfort that it brings the other characters! At some points I laughed out loud at his innocent comments which you could see coming but were so George!
Great storyline and finish. I am now lost without him!

Another Great Read!

I am fascinated by Detective George Cross and the characterising of others in the book is sympathetic. I have now read all of the George Cross novels and wait impatiently for the next.
