Wonderful as usual
Always a great story with great characters and a decent narrator (except that she pronounced the name Hannah in a ridiculously affected and annoying way, as though she had never heard anyone say the name before). A small thing in a great novel.

A delightful story!
Amelia is a wonderful, sweet, quirky character. I loved hearing about her compulsion to investigate the mysterious note she finds, which claims that the writer is going to be murdered. An excellent audiobook with great narration.

A good gently unusual tale
Lovely whimsy with an inner journey woven with a good outer tale. The gentle inner voice and core ethics of the central character were pleasing.

Unexpected gem
This book surprised me a bit, I had expected something more cosy lighthearted mystery but it was so much more. There's adventure & a personal journey as well along with the sleuthing. I loved the characters & supporting acts she met along the way. Dorothy Gilman is such an underrated or forgotten author.

What a great discovery
I've never read anything by those author before. But now I've read two. this one and The Claivoyant Countess. I loved them both. The author has a way of creating such captivating characters and the narrator gives them exactly the 'life' that brings them to life. Great storyline with just a touch of humour here and there. These 2 books were free, but I will happily use a credit to read more.

Excellent and unexpected storyline
Another of Dorothy Gilman's great reads. Beautifully narrated and a gripping tale - loved it - an ideal bed time story which I know I will listen to again.

Great story
I have only just discovered this author but will certainly be looking for more of her titles. The story telling is wonderful with characters that engage you.
