About this listen
Hoping to make a clean break from a fractured marriage, Agatha Christie boards the Orient Express in disguise. But unlike her famous detective Hercule Poirot, she can't neatly unravel the mysteries she encounters on this fateful journey.
Agatha isn't the only passenger on board with secrets. Her cabinmate Katharine Keeling's first marriage ended in tragedy, propelling her toward a second relationship mired in deceit. Nancy Nelson - newly married but carrying another man's child - is desperate to conceal the pregnancy and teeters on the brink of utter despair. Each woman hides her past from the others, ferociously guarding her secrets. But as the train bound for the Middle East speeds down the track, the parallel courses of their lives shift to intersect - with lasting repercussions.
Filled with evocative imagery, suspense, and emotional complexity, The Woman on the Orient Express explores the bonds of sisterhood forged by shared pain and the power of secrets.

Grating voice!!!
Enjoyed the story but I struggled to listen to the narrator. Such a grating voice, and some really strange pronunciation and phrasing. Really detracted from the story.

Unusual and very entertaining
Loved both the book and the audible which I have listened to twice. The content forced me to find out more of Agatha Christie's private life which I also found interesting. Narration was brilliant, Justine Eyre has a wonderful voice and accent which brought the characters to life. Highly recommended.

Can’t listen any more
The narrator ruined this for me. She just seems to warble her way through. And the Welsh accent was the final straw! It was a mix between West-country, Scottish and Irish. Not a hint of Welsh. If this was produced again with a different narrator, I think I would love it, as I’m an ardent Agatha Christie fan. I’m going to request a refund as it’s intolerable.

Excellent narration but the story let’s you down
This is a story of three women who meet on a train and who’s lives become inextricably intertwined. That part is lovely. But one of the characters is Agatha Christie…and that part feels a bit gratuitous. It didn’t need to be Dame Agatha, the book might even have felt more authentic if it wasn’t tied to such a well-known figure. And the ending seems rushed, a mad dash to wrap it all up in a nice little bow. But the narration is excellent! Bravo :-)

The Woman on the orient express by Lindsey Jayne Ashford
I really enjoyed this book.
It is well written, and holds your attention throughout, all the storylines are dealt with in a sensitive manner, and you feel involved in the lives of the characters.

So enjoyable
I love Agatha Christie books and really enjoy reading books that have Agatha in it .
The narrators voice too a little getting used to, but enjoyed the so much that i dismissed that fact.
This book gave me such joy, i loved the way in which the story was told, the pace was constant and description of places, food and activities was excellent, i could see the charecters and places were alive in my head as i listened.
Totally recommend this 🤩
