Great continuation of story
I am now hooked to them all. Like others I struggled with the author change and I miss the voice of Dave and Howie. Along with Nick they are all made to sound a bit dumb with this narrator but I am getting used to it.
There are some issues in the audiobook, pieces missing, jumping forward randomly. At first I thought it was audible but then realised that there are gaps.
Audible/author, please check. For example chapter 15 at 40 minutes in. Neil gets cut off mid sentence and it jumps to the infection.
However please do not let that put you off this book and the series. It really is quite enveloping and I listen for hours on end, enraptured by it.
Not loving the amount of gore and have skipped forward a few times when it seemed to go on longer than I could take 😂 but the story, the twists and depth of the characters makes this one of the best series I have ever read/listened to.

Better voices
The change in narrator was jarring but the narrator has improved, the story is soo damn consuming, loving it.

I ll definitely finish the series
Marcy is hard work. I’d of sent her packing on day 2. Howie is mad for putting up with her.

Joe Jameson is a star bringing the characters alive ( even the undead ones)
Joe Jameson is a star bringing the characters alive ( even the undead ones) with outstanding detail to dialectical range and pitch and he has obviously done his homework regarding the characterisations ranging from the military command voices to the 'posh' voice of Lilly and the brutal edgy language of feral youths whom Maddox leads. There are of course some really gruesome descriptions in the writing but as RR Haywood has stated the series is firmly placed in the horror genre of descriptive writing.
It is a long series but RR Hayward manages to keep the saga edgy despite some of the characters adolescent ramblings regarding love.
