BREATH TAKING SERIES

What an outstanding ending! and a shocking one at that, there were a few editing mistakes and the first half of this book dragged on a bit, but the second half was so epic. All in all this trilogy has been AMAZING, one of my favourite book series of all time. Loved all the characters so much.

Amazing

I came across The Young Samurai series a few years back and have to say, i was hooked straight away, it is an amazing storyline that definitely lets the imagination run free. When i found out that the first three books were available on audiable i was so happy as my son is autistic and loves the story too. however when i learned that they haven't recorder the remaining six books i was devastated as my son can't listen to hear the rest of the story unfold. please consider recording the remaining books in the series.

lots of death

I liked all the training, but I’m more into happy endings. I liked learning about Japan and Samurai and Ninjas, but too many friends died.

The next books aren’t audiobooks anyway, and so I won’t pick them up.

Loved it!!

Love this series. The one reading does a great job at character separation of voices. It was like watching a movie or living in the scenes

Story plot is great reader not so much

The story was awesome and amazing. The only thing that hindered it was the pronunciation of some native Japanese words.

Loved this series!

Great story, very descriptive without being long winded. Great action. The only problem is that it ended, I wish I could learn what happened after he got back to England and how his skills helped him back home.

Fun and entertaining

What I like about this was the weaving of many Japanese stories, folk tales and history in this story.

The one critique I have is the horrible mispronunciation of names. Every time the narrator say Yamato, Nakamura, and various others I found myself correcting it. Other than this I found the series quite enjoyable.

SMH @ the main character

The main character was painstakingly foolish, never quite learning from his mistake of keeping vital information from his guardian, endangering himself and those around him throughout the trilogy.. Good story but painful to listen to. Very stupid main character.

Great Story!

But….. PLEASE teach the narrator to pronounce Japanese words correctly!! It’s rough hearing him mispronounce words like Kyoto, daimyo, etc.

What if Hogwarts was in Kyoto & Voldemort was a 🥷

I started book 1 on Friday and it’s late Sunday night and I just finished book 3... what an unexpected emotional journey and joy this series proved to be. My love of feudal Japan and the culture fueled a small part of my enjoyment of the book I’m certain. The hand to hand, archery, horsemanship, sword play, themes of honor, duty, love, companionship, justice, racism, revenge, & blind hate.

*** disclaimer the author has a seriously vindictive cruel streak that would make J.K. proud, Fred, Remus & Tonks, Sirius, book 6, etc... prepare for the feels before the ride is over.

One small grievance is through the whole 3 books there are a handful of production blips. 4-5 times throughout the series you will hear a ripple in the Matrix. You will hear a ripple in the Matrix. ;) also there are 3-ish random bleeps or something like a digital audio compression squelch?

Thanks for the ride Mr. Bradford,

Hope to see books 4 & 5 on Audible sometime!
