Quiet Warrior: the Way to a Splendid Future

Usually, I am not interested in any kind of teachings on how to "become better at <...>", how to "change yourself/your life" and similar things. I was someone who always referred to myself as someone who needs no help from the outside and no words have ever got through me until the moment I find out the same truth myself. Well, yes, there is a character in that book, someone like me: strong and independent yet fragile and seeking someone to guide through this difficult world.

Tom Dutta's "The way of the Quiet Warrior" has a different approach on how to teach a person. It never says: "do this and you will be ok" or "you shouldn't do that because you will only ruin your life (as long as it not ruined by your senseless behavior already)".

This is a compilation of stories within a real story - the story of the author himself. As someone, who usually reads mostly fiction, I found this part appealing, and stories were interesting just on their own. The Narrator Chris Abell set those stories free, gave them life turning a mere "how to" audiobook into a set of captivating tails. I was so struck by how the author was so open about his own life which was not easy, that's for sure. In a composition of other stories that were much more fictional (however, based on some real people and their lives) it made a nice balance and tips that were incorporated inside the text did not seem too pushy or overdone. The listener is always able to choose what he wants to do and what he does not, the main point of the story itself - listen to different stories of people who went through the difficulties and how they defeated them - and hearing that find parallels with our own lives and choose what works on us.

The Quiet Warrior lets you grow a sword inside your heart to fight off all the challenges you might meet. But this sword is so delicate that it hurts no one; it is like a stream in your mind that is as swift as water and would find a way how to climb over any kind of obstacle found on its journey. Even though this audio is mostly about challenges in the business world those tips are so universal that everyone would find something useful for them.
