About this listen

An edge-of-your-seat mystery from your new crime fiction obsession: Biba Pearce.

Please note this book is a completely revised edition of The Revenge Killer.

A spate of brutal stabbings. An ambitious young detective. A killer hell-bent on revenge.

A father is found dead in his posh West London home. Stabbed to death. By somebody who couldn’t stop. There are seven or eight puncture wounds.

There’s no time to relax for recently married DI Rob Miller.

Now a second man is found brutally murdered in the same frenzied manner. Do the police have a serial killer on their hands?

The investigation leads Rob and his ex-lover Detective Jo Maguire to London’s undercover escort industry. It’s a risky world to dive into, and Rob’s feelings for Jo don’t help.

They realize that the murderer is leaving a blistering trail of revenge killings - and the violence is escalating.

Can Rob and Jo work together to stop the murderer before someone else pays the ultimate price?

An unstoppable crime mystery that you won’t be able to put down

This pause-resisting follow-up to The Thames Path Killer is perfect for fans of Helen H. Durrant, James Oswald, Joy Ellis, Angela Marsons, L.J. Ross, Alex Smith and J.M. Dalgliesh.

Meet the Detective

DI Rob Miller

An ambitious young detective gunning for promotion. He will do anything for his job, but can he also keep his personal life under control?

The Setting

The Murder Investigation Team is based out of leafy Putney, with its overgrown often-flooded riverbanks. One way the river leads into central London, the other out into the countryside. It’s an idyllic setting that masks a criminal underworld.

Third Rate Book

The narrator could have read up on police procedures , one example scene of crime officers is pronounced socko, not so co as he read!. So very irritating to the listener. Another example of lazy writing is bringing a large dog into the story early on , only to write that the dog's owner never leaves the house . Dog's needs don't come into it!. I gave up after 3 chapters.

SOCO

Enjoying this series. Just a couple of niggles though: a detective that has a habit of forgetting he’s turned his phone off, the detective’s wife is truly pathetic, even before the traumatic experience; I hope she goes in the next books, and last but not least SOCO is pronounced socko not so co.

Spoilt by a rushed rather simple ending

I like the books in this series, but thus one was spoilt by a rushed and rather unbelievable denouement. It didn't need to be rushed as it was not the longest of books, so hardly running out of paper!

“Sublime and awesome”

I am not a book critic but what I have done is listen to the DI miller series and with hand on heart I can honestly say all the books were superb , gripping , thrilling , kept you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what was going to happen next , all the books are very well written and very clever how the turn of event all link together. I also have to pay tribute to the narrator because a poor narrator can make a good book disappointing, the narrator was resoursefull great use of accents bringing each character to life , all in all I would recommend all Biba Pearce’s books I can say with confidence that you will not be disappointed. …Garry Smith

Fantastic book

This is the 2nd in the series and I have enjoyed them both.
Gripping story, I’ve binged on both books.
Well narrated , great story , love the characters.

I’d highly recommend them and would suggest listening to them in order.
I can’t wait for the next one.

Another great crime thriller in the series

Biba has done it again. A great follow up to book one and hopefully not the last!

Not Great

The women are all stereotypes, the details aren't thought out, the story is ok, the narration is reasonable.
