About this listen

From the critically-acclaimed author of PRINCE OF FOOLS comes the third volume of the brilliant new epic fantasy series, THE RED QUEEN’S WAR.

All the horrors of Hell stand between Snorri Ver Snagason and the rescue of his family, if indeed the dead can be rescued.

For Jalan Kendeth getting back out alive and with Loki’s Key is all that matters. Loki’s creation can open any lock, any door, and it may also be the key to Jal’s fortune back in the living world.

Jal plans to return to the three Ws that have been the core of his idle and debauched life: wine, women, and wagering. Fate however has other, larger, plans…

The Wheel of Osheim is turning ever faster and it will crack the world unless it’s stopped. When the end of all things looms, and there’s nowhere to run, even the worst coward must find new answers.

Jal and Snorri face many dangers – from the corpse-hordes of the Dead King to the many mirrors of the Lady Blue; but in the end, fast or slow, the Wheel of Osheim will exert its power.

In the end it’s win or die.

I hope there is more

Great listen. The story is fast paced and well narrated. If you liked the first two books in the Red Queen series this is even better. Please keep them coming.

good end to a great trilogy

I was worried how this trilogy would end as I really enjoyed the first two but luckily this installment did not disappoint.

Worth it.

Well thought out and enjoyable all the way through. Excellently read by Sean Ohlendorf. If you've got this far through the series I can't imagine how you wouldn't love this. If you've not enjoyed any of the previous books then I don't know why you'd bother continuing but even in that case this book is a fitting piece of the puzzle to such a degree you couldn't say it was inconsistent.

Best yet

I enjoyed The Broken Empire trilogy; I had enjoyed The Red Queen's War too, but the last part of this trilogy has been truly excellent - so much so I had to try really hard not to "binge-listen" my way through it.

A good tale, well-written, populated throughout by engaging characters. The narration, too, is excellent.

Very Enjoyable

A wonderfully entertaining end to the second series of (audio) books set in the broken empire. I think if you listened to the first two there's no way you can't finish with this.

It's as enjoyable, funny and exciting as the previous books and has a rather fitting end. There's even more world building and a lot more details of the past that are revealed which I particularly like.

I really enjoyed Sean Ohlendorfs performance throughout, he really brought the characters to life. Really enjoyed the whole thing

A near perfect trilogy

I have been a fan of fantasy books for over 40 years and have read hundreds of books in that time. It's a rare pleasure to find a series of books that reignites the joy of discovery, fantastic pacing I only noticed on point where the pace flags in the three books. I simply loved these books. Narration was first class, I hope there is more to follow.

Good Ending

I'm better pleased with the last book than I was with the first. The story flows better - it has more nerve. I'm entertained throughout.
