Summary

The emotional, uplifting and completely relatable new novel from Sunday Times best-selling author Milly Johnson.

Shay Bastable is the woman in the middle. She is there for everyone else, holding them all together, looking out for them all. She is part of the sandwich generation - caring for her parents and her children - and she loves it that way.

But Shay is so busy supporting everyone else, she hasn’t thought for a moment about herself. And when her family start to find their own ways in the world, she is finally able to look forward to some breathing space. But when her whole world collapses, who is left to her support her?

Chapter 14/15 skips!

How annoying. Great narrator, great plot but chapter 14 skips into 15 then skips again and you miss loads of the story! Jumped straight to chapter 16… now I’m not sure whether to carry on on give up… not just me. A friend downloaded at the same time and happened on here too so obviously a fault.

Audio not quite right

This book is another wonderful Milly Johnson book, and Colleen Prendergast's narration is as great as ever. However, the editing has gone wrong, a number of chapters seem to end and cut to the next chapter mid sentence.

Fault with chapter 12-13

Book skips a huge chunk of the story which is a shame because I was really enjoying it!

Modern life story

Beautifully read by Colleen. Loads of twists and turns. Super satisfying ending. Wish It Could Be Christmas is my favourite, this new book is a close second.

Another great Milly Johnson listen.

I always look forward to a new listen from Milly Johnson and again I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I think with most of her books you can almost always predict the ending from early on. However it has never stopped me enjoying the stories. As expected the narrator does a great job and I enjoy where Milly drops in a few of the characters from previous books. I loved Shay her main character and her mum very much and at the end I finish looking forward to the next book.

Don’t Buy

Save your money - this audiobook skips several chapters meaning you miss several large chunks of story. Disappointing!

Skipping chapters, chunks missing!

Slow to get going and nearly gave up when narration skips at the end of chapter 14 and 15 mid sentence. A whole chunk seems to be missing. This one of Milly’s didn’t capture me as most of her books do.

Milly Johnson Does It Again

This is another good story from Milly Johnson. An easy, heart-warming story to lose yourself in if it's cold and miserable outside. I just felt that the main character's new relationship could have been left to run a bit further.
A great narration by Coleen Prendergast.

What a cracking good novel

It has everything, pain, laughter, love and brilliant narration. Highly recommend. I cried and smiled and found it utterly satisfying.
