Summary

The real Bridget Jones. Bryony Gordon survived her adolescence by dreaming about the life she'd have in her 20s: the perfect job; the lovely flat; the amazing boyfriend.

The reality was something of a shock. Her Telegraph column was a diary of her daily screw-ups; she lived in a series of squalid shoe boxes; and her most meaningful relationship of the entire decade was with a Marlboro Light.

Here in the Sunday Times best-selling The Wrong Knickers, Bryony busts open the glamorized myth of what it means to be a young (perpetually) single girl about London town and shares the horrible and hilarious truth. The truth about picking up a colleague at the STI clinic; sinking into debt to fund a varied diet of wine, crisps, and vodka; and how it feels when your dream man turns out to be a one-night stand who hands you someone else's knickers in the morning.

Bryony's wonderfully ridiculous and ultimately redemptive story is essential listening for everyone whose 'best years' weren't quite what they were expecting....

Fun and entertaining

Really enjoyed lazing about in the sun with this one, made me laugh and remember how I have been in some of the situations the main caricature was finding herself in. Sophie Bleasdale really tells the story, not just reads the book, lots of fun.

A book every 20-something should read

Hilarious, relatable, shocking and heart warming. A real feel good book. Would recommend to any 20-something girl.

So relatable!!

As a 36 year old, with a colourful past myself, I could totally relate to the Author.
A honest insight into the life of a modern young woman finding her way in the world.
Lots of laughs but some sad moments too.

Good story, rather jarring performance

Good, gripping story - only slightly marred by some jarring mispronunciations and weird misplaced emphasis at times.

Funny funny

Loved this light hearted story, that was full of completely relatable anecdotes that any 20-something will have experienced!
Some extremely funny moments, however my only criticism is that, whilst the narrator was lovely, I do feel that some of the more cheeky jokes were reduced in hilarity as the narrator didn’t seem natural when reading them. Thus the jokes felt forced and left the listener wondering if they were indeed jokes or more on the side of sarcasm.
A lovely, easy listen.

Chaos and custom made delight

I'm a huge fan and followed of Bryony Gordon, I regularly read her and her mum's column and have followed her career for a long time.

This book is easily relatable to anyone in their late 20s, as Bryony documents and details her own versions of stories and lessons many of us have learnt over the years. From threats of bailiffs, to falling for the wrong guy and having to learn to handle our intoxication and substance levels.

It's funny, well performed and engaging and fun. I would recommend.

Fast, real and funny.

Great story but didn't much like the narrator's voice. It was a bit depressing and flat and I couldn't help thinking for such a fab account of
Exciting and risky London living, it needed a more animated voice. The story is great though!

Mixed Feelings

Not exactly what I expected... though witty and fun I found it hard to follow on all the adventures of the main character. The ending happens so suddenly I wondered if the author has run out of paper. Nonetheless a fun read and great performance!

Very amusing

I suspect many women who once worked in the City will be able to relate to much of the book, after work antics in wine bars and searching for Mr. Right via various Mr. Wrongs. I though the general personal neglect detailed made me squirm! Overall I think Harry must be a brave man.
