Fantastic

As a nutritional therapist and personal trainer, I have recommended this book to many of my clients as it answers a lot of the questions I get asked daily. The level of evidence found is exceptional and I enjoyed the narrator 👌🏻

Fantastic evidence-based health & lifestyle guide

This book cuts through all the bs in modern health & wellness. So many supplements and practices that we assume to work (multivitamins etc.) are thoroughly debunked in this book. It's a great read for a general audience, very digestible and the performance is very engaging even when the science gets more dense.

Loved the no, nonsense approach.

The no-nonsence approach by the author and conveyed by the narrated kept me hooked from start to finish.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and plan to listen to it again a few times. I have previously listened to a similar book written by a scientist called "Breakfast is a dangerous meal" ... alot of the diets you referred too including the medditarianian diet and the oily fish cropped up a lot there too...

This book however took a broader approach and didn't simply talk about diet, but just about every aspect of ones life and routine and what the current clinical science says is best for you (evidence based).

I particularly enjoyed the authors earthy ratings of the study's.

From this book I plan to reduce my over the counter supplements and instead try to concentrate more on getting them via my diet, I was also inspired to purchase my first over the counter oily fish to cook. goodbye useless omega 3 supp's hello fishy.

Thank you for the enlightenment and down to earth monologue so that even I could understand the message being conveyed "live long and prosper" though better life choices.

Balanced and evidence based

Like some said, it might not tell you any new facts that you've never heard of but it will definitely provide the background and the key research behind the most common advice and myths about wellbeing.

it encourages your critical thinking when it comes to media coverage on wellbeing and the science behind it; and equipps to spot clickbait headlines and fake experts. It's an incredible summary of key research on each of the topics and lovely to listen to.

Some extremely interesting content

This book isn't going to tell you how to live your life, that choice is up to you.

What it offers is unbiased scientific evidence, which at times you may feel that some is contradictory. That's because the author accepts that some things are not yet well enough understood.

This well-written, fantastically narrated book will give you the evidence you need to make your own mind up.

Outstanding on how to lead a healthy life

Best book I have listened to on how to live a healthy life. Full of things you can do: eg which suppliments are worth taking and which are a waste of money.

You may not live longer...

You may not live longer... but it will certainly feel like you are, as all the foods you love are listed with reasons as to why they are killing you, immediately destroying any joy you may have gotten from them.

But seriously this is an excellent eye opening guide into everything nutrition related. The audiobook is also well narrated and is as entertaining as it is informative.

This is my kind of book

Informative but not patronising. You will listen to good advice based on the research that has taken place, but the author tells us that's not even conclusive or rigid. Not much I didn't know already as I listen and read loads of books on this subject, but a book I'd still like to replay and keep in my library.
