About this listen

A lot can change in three months: wars can be decided, nations can be forged... or entire species can be brought to the brink of annihilation. The Morningstar Virus, an incredibly virulent disease, has swept the face of the planet, infecting billions. Its hosts rampage, attacking anything that remains uninfected. Even death can't stop the virus-its victims as cannibalistic shamblers. Scattered across the world, embattled groups have persevered. For some, surviving is the pinnacle of achievement. Others hoard goods and weapons. And still others leverage power over the remnants of humanity in the form of a mysterious cure for Morningstar.

Francis Sherman and Anna Demilio want only a vaccine, but to find it, they must cross a countryside in ruins, dodging not only the infected, but also the lawless living. The bulk of the storm has passed over the world, leaving echoing thunder and softly drifting ashes. But for the survivors, the peril remains, and the search for a cure is just beginning...

Thunder and Ashes

Just cannot wait to get the final story in the trilogy. It was brilliantly written and highly imaginative

GreatBookShameThereProbablyWon'tBeANextPart

I really enjoyed this book, but it did leave the story open at a crucial time. Problem is that the author has passed away recently. I'm not saying not to get these books, quite the opposite, just that the story will probably remain incomplete.

My condolences to the mans family and friends.

Another sprinter

The sequel to Plague Of The Dead. This book continues right from where the last book ended No gaps in time that the reader has to guess about.

This is as well written and enjoyable as the original Morningstar Strain book. Again the story focuses in two places and I think the split works just great. You get plenty about each group and lots of action and adventure along the way. I was driving along shouting encouragement or wincing with anticipation.

As for the ending... well you must listen for yourself.

I am hoping it won't be too long before Audible has the next part ready for download. Hoo-arr!

zombie gold

I really enjoyed this audiobook. The narration was seamless and unobstrusive, building tension gradually. I really hope that the final instalment is published by his family, as all zombie sagas require redemption. It's terribly sad that the author died so young.

Brilliant continuation of the story!

A very good book indeed, and no reason not to go on with the series.

Once again to the breach . . .

Writing a review for this book is so easy . . . put simply if you enjoyed the first one and want more of the same then this is one to buy. If you didn't and don't then it isn't.

I was one of the former and this book kicks right off from the end of the first one and delivers the same exciting and decently paced zombie action with more of the characters surviving the last one.

The only remaining concern might be the sad fact that the author passed away before completing the third book and hence the series. Despite this sadness the series has been completed and completed perfectly in keeping with Z.A. Recht's style and general rules of engagement.

A very entertaining listen!

Gripping, enthralling, fantastic! Narrator really adds to the story and you care so much about the characters. Genuinely scary in parts - pretty much the perfect Zombie book. I was devasted to learn that the author sadly passed away before he could finish the third in the trilogy
