Summary
After 15 years in prison, a disgraced spy hunts down the man who put him away
Jack Mason is ready to kill. For 15 years he has plotted revenge from his prison cell. He has exercised daily, keeping his body and mind fit, and learned all he could about computers, so that he could be able to manipulate them at will. He will need to use all his mental powers to find Sobell, and all his merciless strength to kill him.
An ex-CIA agent, Mason was jailed for spying on his country for the Russians. Sobell was the KGB colonel who recruited him and, when the scheme turned sour, sold him out. He is hidden somewhere in the United States, with a new identity courtesy of Witness Protection, and a mistress in the form of Jack’s ex-wife. When Jack gets out of prison, he’s going to take them both down - no matter what the cost.

the build up was good
the ending was too sudden and with no prior warning. I expected more twists and turns, as though the writer hadn't really thought how to end it

The Devil's in the Details
Intensely detailed, well narrated intricate tale, typical for this author, so enjoyable for those who enjoy him. After 18 of his novels am familiar with his writing style and quirks. If you enjoy Le Carre you will enjoy this book. Written in 2006 it includes now "forgotten" tech of the time also cheque books and bank cards lol. It's hard to find a plot loophole in any of the books that irked me enough causing me to stop. The complexity means you must engage noodle to keep up.
The MCs are well defined. Good drama and action, some of which will keep you glued open mouthed for what will be served up next.
After reading the other reviews, I can see how the lack of "American" accents is odd, but so enjoyed the narrator it didn't cause me any issues. GOOD BOOK, V ENJOYABLE
