Few musicians have lived a musical life as rich as the songwriter and producer Ian Broudie.
From recording the glorious uplifting psychedelic pop of his band the Lightning Seeds to producing bands like Echo & the Bunnymen and the Fall, Ian has journeyed from the energy and potential of the 1970s punk scene to the madness of '90s indie - and out the other side.
Throughout nearly fifty years of making music, he has had a front-row seat working with generations of fantastic musicians in the creation of countless groundbreaking records. In Tomorrow's Here Today, he reveals what he has learnt about creativity, how to work with musicians touched by genius and what it is like to stumble through an exploding industry without losing sight of your dreams.
Along the way, Ian shares how he wrote the million-selling album Jollification and how - along with the comedians David Baddiel and Frank Skinner - he wrote and recorded the only single in chart history to reach number one in the UK on four separate occasions. 'Three Lions' has since become the undisputed unofficial anthem of English football, soundtracking heartbreaking defeats as well as the wondrous victories of the Lionesses.
Following 2022's long-awaited Lightning Seeds comeback, Ian reflects on a life of cosmic adventures spent in thrall to the power of music.

A Brilliant Bio
Absolutely loved it. This is my favourite bio/book read of this year. Ian's narration is perfect - nice and chilled, gently taking you on a the road of his life to make it with the Lightening Seeds. Such a great story and Ian is a very decent and humble guy. He comes across as easy going and doesn't take himself too seriously at all. What he is passionate about is the music and aside from his own britpop 90's band his involvement with many other popular bands is amazing. THis lad has done some seriously great work producing.
A great lyricist and now Bio writer. Superb work, great story I loved the whole show.

Fantastic Listen!
This was an absolute joy of a listen. Beautifully read by the author, honest, funny, moving and so interesting. The audio equivalent of a comfy chair in front of an open fire on a cold day. Highly recommended.

Honest, wise and inspiring
Ian‘s autobiography is beautifully narrated by the author. The contents are fascinating especially if you are interested in Ian‘s music, Liverpool, the Post Punk scene, football and all the other things that make life so worth living. This book massively exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it.

So much more than three lions
Like many I'd listened to and like the lightening seeds in the 90s- there upbeat pop songs and of course three lions. This is a great read and I had no idea that Ian had produced so many hits for other bands.
its an honest account of a life in music and Liverpool.

great listen
Really interesting book, telling of Ian's great body of work as producer and artist (and enough, but not too much, of his personal life). The narration is clear and has lots of character. It felt a little short would be my only criticism.

Marvellous
Broudie narrates his story perfectly and The Lightning Seeds aren't the most interesting part, surprisingly. There are some great cameos from the 80s Liverpool scene, the expected horrors of the music industry machine, reminders that Broudie is a legendary producer and wonderful words for the great Terry Hall.
