Summary

The true story of a six-year-old boy with a dreadful secret.

Oskar's school teacher raises the alarm. Oskar's mother is abroad, and he has been left in the care of friends, but has been arriving in school hungry, unkempt and with bruises on his arms, legs and body. Experienced foster carer Cathy Glass is asked to look after him, but as the weeks pass, her concerns deepen. Oskar is far too quiet for a child of six and is clearly scared of something or someone.

And who are those men parked outside his school watching him?

Fabulous listen.

Love listening it this. As a Foster carer myself it was lovely to hear the stories from another carer.
It was happy, sad, and so emotional. Having young children myself it's hard to find the time to pick up a book to read. So this is perfect as I can listen any chance I get to myself and if in the car can turn the radio off and listen.

Brave Boy

What a brave little boy Oscar is. It still sickens me to the core that there are some people out there who believe they have the right to abuse children and I am so sad he had to go through that, but what a brave soldier he is. The ending made my heart soar, all the best to Oscar and the wheelchair wizard!

Cathy glad never ceases to amaze, as per usual, I listened to this book from start to finish in one sitting. Her story telling and absolute love for the children she fosters restores my faith in humanity with every single book.

Avery heartbreaking story with a calming end

I generally love books from Cathy Glass but that one was one of her best books. I was crying several times and my heart went out to Oskar but thanks god his abusers were prisioned and the end was calming for me. Hopefully his life will go on without any harms and he can enjoy to live with his extended family forever.
