About this listen

The 13 stories in this book, Trial Runs, are set in the Love's Trials universe, and within its time frame. Each story examines a different problem which Colin and Joshua faced during that challenging period in their lives. Some of the issues are deadly serious, some are simply the day-to-day snags which we all experience in the course of our lives, and some are downright hilarious. All demonstrate the love these two men share and the passion with which they live their lives together.

The stories are often hot, sexy, and contain explicit adult content.

Sorry it ended

I’m updating my review since I just finished the audio. Walker William’s narration really brings these stories to life. He brings perfect pitch, intensity, clarity, enunciation and rhythm to the stories. He really makes me lean more to wanting to do more audio.

(My original review of the story)
I cannot even settle down and think where to begin on this review. This is one of the hardest I’ve ever worked on because this is just so good I don’t feel I can do it justice.

This author’s style reflects how much she likes the subject she writes. Colin and Joshua are meant to be together. What they go through is so emotional that more than once I found myself crying and laughing. I found this to be put together to see where they are at an ongoing point in time. It fits between the series and brings so much to the story. The series would have not been nearly as good without this. I love the other books and this author really knows how to put real life into the story. The ups and downs drew me in. The story flow is so constant that there is never a emotional down time reading this. My heart broke in more than one section. Letter from Dad, The Wrangler, Father and Sons, Chrismukkah, The Campus Cop and many other sections gripped me and I was so torn up that sometimes it was hard for me to continue without needing a break. The story was that intense. This has to be some of the best stories I’ve read in a long time. The relationship is so strong it is heartwarming. The emotions so high, like the Christmas ornaments, Jerry’s death and Joshua’s childhood that I feel a part of what was happening. The really sad part is it ended. I could just keep going on like I do with my friends and relatives. That’s how real this story feels. The sex is more than a little hot and described so believable. The relationships with the secondary characters enviable. The secondary characters so much a part of the stories. The covers for this series is exactly as I picture them. I can’t wait to read what’s next.

A wonderful addition to the series!

Trial Runs isn’t a standalone story. I actually consider it a gift from the author for the fans of this wonderful world she’s created for her characters that began with Love’s Magic. Janice has found the perfect voice actor for her characters in Walker Williams; he’s actually a good part of the reason that I fell in love with her books.

Like the blurb says, Trial Runs is a collection of 13 short stories. It would be nearly impossible to write much about each individual story without giving too much away. The best thing I can really say is if you are a fan of Colin and Josh you don’t want to miss this book. If you are a fan of Walker Williams’ performance of Janice’s other books, you don’t want to miss this one in audio format.

I highly recommend this book and the entire series!

A copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.
