About this listen
#1 New York Times bestselling author Lee Goldberg hits the ground running in a breakneck thriller where truth and fiction collide for the unluckiest writer alive.
When a passenger jet crashes onto the beaches of Waikiki, bestselling thriller writer Ian Ludlow knows the horrific tragedy wasn’t an accident.
Years before, the CIA enlisted Ian to dream up terrorism scenarios to prepare the government for nightmares they couldn’t imagine. Now one of those schemes has come true, and Ian is the only person alive who knows how it was done...and who is behind the plot. That makes him too dangerous to live.
Ian goes on the run, sweeping up an innocent bystander in his plight - Margo French, a dog walker and aspiring singer. They are pursued by assassins and an all-seeing global-intelligence network that won’t stop until Ian and Margo are dead. Ian has written thrillers like this before, but this time he doesn’t know how it’s going to end - or if he will be alive to find out.

"Adam Verner gives an entertaining narration of Goldberg's fast-paced adventure.... Verner's character voices are spot-on, and his pacing captures all the excitement and humor as the unlikely heroes take on those who are trying to eliminate them." (AudioFile)

Fantastic!
Loved the narration and the story. I’m new to this author but will DEFINITELY be checking out his other titles. The audiobook was like watching a movie.

Excellent adventure
This was an excellent book. Great characters, wonderful action adventure with plenty of humour.
The narration was excellent too. Great expression and characterization. I felt like I was there! The narrator makes such a difference to an audio book and Adam Verner is great.
I highly recommend this audio book.

Enjoyable conspiracy plot with innocents pursued .
I enjoyed this novel and there were plenty of good ideas but I found it difficult to take too seriously ( quite probably the author's intention?).
I am a big fan of the author's Eve Ronin novels and have also enjoyed his collaborations with Janet Evanovich. I do not think "True Fiction" is as good as either series, but definitely has rather more in common with the latter. That's not to say that I will not be moving on to read "Killer Thriller" - it is already on my kindle. The ideas presented in "True Fiction" are too ghastly to contemplate while at the same time are worryingly feasible - yet this is written in a relatively jokey way with one or two characters who are comic figures - In fact maybe that's it - this is more like a comic adventure with conspiracy theory.
Enjoyable but not to be taken too seriously. Perhaps 3 and a half stars. Like something Ian Ludlow himself would have written. The author's dialogue is always fun to read.Narration of the audiobook version was consistently good.

predictable in places maybe but I'll be back; fun.
Finished in about a week on Audible and enjoy both the teller and the book itself. Did I see some of the plot coming? Yes. Did I see the end at all? No. I bought some more in the series, so I must like it lots!

Hard going
Think the story was fanciful. mills and boon meets spy story. unfortunately the narrator seemed to make every one sound like Yogi bear which did not help an already struggling story.

Fairly good action story
A little slow to start but once the hero decides to be a bit more proactive, the story moves along quite nicely. Not great literature but a fun way to spend a few hours while doing your chores.
