Good Book
I enjoyed reading this book kind of a sad ending worth a read not on par with Kimberly Chambers

A good yarn, albeit a little unbelievable at times
A strange decision to base such a novel in the early 60's, but overall it works, although some of the terms used by the books characters were not in common usage at the time. Whether or not someone who hadn't lived through the time would find it so easy to empathize with the characters and description of life I'm not sure, but for me it was a bit of trip down memory lane (no pun intended!) The story has the "feel" of, and certainly the language of a Martina Cole novel. The heroine, Daisy, is possibly a bit too good to be true, especially given the era, and I would question whether an ordinary working class girl be capable of dealing with villians in such a way? It's also strange how the author almost has us rooting for the unpleasant piece of work that is Eddie! The narration and charactisations were very good, and overall I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will certainly download other books in the series.

a must read
what a story griping .. happy ..sad covered every emotion never listened or thought I would enjoy this book but I was so wrong the strength of the woman the love of a man touched by real love every character well presented with loyalty and fear powerful twists and turns and amongst that a cat lol! downside only slight hard swearing to listen but it went with the story it wouldn't have lost the impact with out it if this had been a book too read I doubt id have put it down so listened and listened Annie Adlington narrates these books so cleverly she is brilliant and overall with June Hampson author a perfect team hope there's a book 2 narrate it Annie please

Excellent
The start of a series, I haven't listened to this author previously but will certainly be listening to more, the usual excellent performance by Annie Aldington who bring any story to life.
