About this listen
Everything in her life is taken for granted. The simplest smile, action and even goodbye. Until the day her 12-year-old son walks out the door and never returns.
His brutal murder sends Jordan Wyatt into a self-sheltering world for which she wants no escape. Her life exists only for a daughter that she not only hides from the world, but hides from life.
Fear keeps her from living and from allowing her daughter to live a normal existence.
Until...she meets Victor. He is an eccentric artist with a gift. He presence is so contagious he makes her see life again. His gift is not only the ability to create but to see those who have passed on. Everything hinges on his pen - his means of seeing the other side. When he draws he sees.
Victor vows to keep drawing for Jordan until...he can see her son.

I'm going to make you live again.
On the day that her son Trevor was killed, Jordan's life also effectively ended, as did that of her little daughter, Amy. Despite all that the rest of her loving family tried to do, Jordan was so obsessed with keeping Amy safe, she smothered her, not letting her out of her sight ever.
Victor was an artist whose paintings were in high demand, his reputation world wide. But he had dufficulties with people - they didn't understand him, his living in the moment. Even his agent, Max, struggled to stay connected, learning only on the day of Victor's moving from Manhattan that he'd bought a house somewhere in Redbird, Ohio.
Victor is a glorious character, living in full colour, some sort of autism, probably. His meeting with Jordan one day when he sketches her in the park, leads to a most unconventional and often fraught love story that is simply angelic. Narration is by the excellent George Kuch, who somehow makes every reading personal
This is a great story to enjoy even by those who do not normally like romances. I should know - I'm one of them. At times quirky, sad and hillarious, this is a book not to be missed.
