About this listen
Cassie Forrest isn't surprised to learn that the day she’s decided to get her life together is also the day the world ends. After all, she’s been on a self-imposed losing streak since her survivalist parents died: she’s stopped painting, broken off her engagement to Adrian and dated a real jerk. Rectifying her mistakes has to wait, however, because Cassie and her friends have just enough time to escape Brooklyn for her parents’ cabin before Bornavirus LX turns them into zombies, too. This is difficult enough, but Cassie’s tag along ex-boyfriend and her friend’s bratty sister have a knack for making everything, even the apocalypse, more unpleasant. When the two attract a threat as deadly as the undead to their safe haven, Cassie’s forced to see how far she’ll go to protect those she loves. And it’s a lot farther than she’d anticipated. This, coupled with Adrian’s distant voice on Safe Zone Radio and, of course, the living dead, threaten to put Cassie right back into the funk she just dragged herself out of. Survival’s great and all, especially when you have leather armor, good friends and home-brewed beer, but there’s something Cassie must do besides survive: tell Adrian she still loves him. And to do that, Cassie has to find faith that she’s stronger than she thinks, she’s still a crack shot and true love never dies.

Perfect zombie story!
Really loved this :) I have a bad zombie addiction and always need to be watching zombie shows, movies, etc, and this really filled the zombie gap in my life. It has everything you need - on the run road trips, being holed up and trying to be self sufficient, zombie slaying, enemy humans, romance. I couldn't stop listen ebony and finished it very quickly. Great to read a zombie book with a female lead as well,

What a great surprise!!
Great listen, narrator is good, you can tell between characters which some narrators are not great at.
Story is lovely, but slow to set the story so you get to know the characters but that's to be expected.
If you love zombie story's then you will love this!
Now for book 2!! :)

Great book
Wow what an excellent book. I was a bit dubious whether it would keep me enthralled as it was 13 hours long but it did. Would certainly listen to it again. Have just downloaded the other two audio books.

Enjoyable take on the zombie apocalypse told from a woman's POV
It started off quite annoying as the focus was too much on the protagonist's love life. I did enjoy it more as things got going though and found myself being caught up in their journey. It's not going down as the most memorable listen in the world but I still enjoyed it and looked forward to finding out what was going to happen next.

Enjoyable easy listening
Really enjoyed it. Bit predictable in places but not cheesy enough to make me stop listening. Have previously listened to the short story about what happens to Peter which made me want to hear this one. Not gory or gross & not really violent considering the circumstances!

Rom Zom Com
She's definitely cornered the Rom Zom market and it's refreshing to read some ZA fiction from the perspective of a woman. This means less gun/spec ops worship and far right libertarian politics which is great, I've given up on a couple of series because I just couldn't read that kind of drivel anymore, the author's characters are well rounded and realistic and you actually become invested in them surviving.

Enjoyed get it now.
This book has been in my wish list for too long. I should of listened to it sooner. Only positive was I was able to listen to the whole trilogy (and a novella)
This book is very character driven. I felt I knew where the story was going. The narrator does a very good job. She comes across very clearly through headphones, Bluetooth speaker and through my phone’s speaker. She doesn’t just narrate she also voice acts, however she is able to do so without actually shouting/raising her voice or lowering it to the point that I have to change my volume. Very appreciated. I really enjoyed this book. Downloaded the free book: So long, lollypops, and Bought book 2.

Awesome
I have to say that this was better than I expected...sort of Walking Dead meets chic lit! The characters were well written and it was nice to have the zombie genre without too more gore!
The love story within wasn't too soppy and I look forward to the next book! Highly recommend 🙂
