Summary
In the zombie apocalypse, your worst enemy may be yourself.
Rose Winter has enough problems. With a marriage going down the tubes and a dreaded anniversary party on the horizon, the last thing she needs is the zombie apocalypse. She wanted to get drunk and sing karaoke, not murder her undead neighbors. It’s clear the party’s over, however, now Rose has more problems - a missing husband, an overbearing houseguest, and keeping her family alive.
Tom Jensen has inflexible rules. Rule number one? Don’t deviate from the plan. But when his life is overturned in the space of minutes, his plans die along with everything else. The world is finished, the future is uncertain, and survival means living in the last place he’d planned to be. Maybe his rules weren’t meant to be broken, but if he can’t change his tune, he risks losing the one thing he has left - his daughter.
Craig Matthews has a mission: get to Oregon. Doable, maybe, if he could bring himself to leave his apartment. With his food and water near gone and death closer than ever, a chance encounter may lead to finding his friends - if he can first find his courage.
Unfortunately, the new world doesn’t always mean leaving old problems behind, and as the West Coast succumbs to the virus, the survivors face more than the undead - they face themselves. But in an existence where fences offer dubious safety and zombies certain danger, people may save you in more ways than one.

great story and new characters
ive read the previous 6 books and im not disappointed with this new one. except for the fact im not sure how long till the next book comes out???? if you love zombie this by far outweighs them all with a great set of characters humour love and sadness its all in there. Sarah is an extremely talented writer who knows just how much to put you in there and make you feel like one of the crew. i absolutely can't wait for the next book please hurry up

Turned out to be a good listen.
I agree with another commenter. Not what I was expecting but the characters are varied. Enjoyed it and will listen to more because of characters. Would like to make a few more comments but I hate spoilers!

Finally!
Omg, I feel like I’ve waited forever for this book!
It did feel strange going back to the start of the apocalypse but I was soon drawn right back in.
More excellent characters and exciting writing from Miss Flemming...please just hurry and get the next one done!!

The best Apocolypse Writer!
Sarah Lyons Fleming has a knack of making you love the characters she creates, all of her books - rather than focusing on gore - tell the story of friendship and love, borne out of unimaginable disaster.
I love the fact that she has multiple readers, both male and female, it feels like I am listening to a movie, not a book. I want to see all of these books written into film though, it would be the perfect reward for Sarahs skills.
I can't wait for the next book in the series.. and the next, and the next... this one is her best yet and I dont want it to end.

another fantastic read, from Sarah Lyons Fleming.
Absolutely enthralling read. I enjoy listening to end of the world/zombie sagas and this did not disappoint. However the biggest plus to this authors books are the way she develops the characters to the point where I don't mind admitting I am sitting in my car, crying, laughing out loud, shouting at characters to pull themselves together etc. I have yet to be disappointed with any of her works and truly cannot wait for more in this series!

Fantastic Cast
SLF does it again. Great story. Love the characters. I cried I laughed I read the book then listened to the audio and the Casting is great. I am excited to read the next installment
